Get your EBOX?

Filed under: Free Software — jaime @ 12:31 pm

If you are in touch with the free software world, you may know there is a proyect developed by Warp Networks, called eBox Platform.

So imagine my face when I read last weekend: Get your EBOX. It basically says Asus will call EBOX one of his cheap computers.

I hope it’s only rumours and  Warp people can solve this problem. I wish them best luck from here.

Beyond Juslibol

Filed under: Freak, Games, Personal — jaime @ 7:35 pm

In the previous post I was writing about old Macintosh computers. Well, one of the things you could do with them was playing Beyond Juslibol.

One of the best games ever. It was basically the reason why I finally studied Industrial Engineering at CPS. I managed to finish the game before starting my career, so I already knew some of the teachers and several tricks to pass the subjects :-)

By the way, it was completely programmed by industrial engineering students. At that time you couldn’t study computer engineering at CPS. And, as you can appreciate, industrials program better :-D

Old times

Oh my! I can’t describe how I feel remembering System 6 times.

System 6 was one of the OS you could run in a Macintosh Plus or in a Macintosh SE. Well, you actually *can* if you have one. In my case I own four of this cute little things (three SE’s and one Plus).

Now it’s possible to choose separately between which languages we want to translate texts or web pages. So, for example we can translate directly from German to Spanish:

RedIRIS Workgroups

Filed under: Free Software, Work — jaime @ 6:19 pm

I’ve past the last two days in Valencia, attending RedIRIS Workgroups. Eduardo Fiat and I were presenting once again our beloved Brutalix. We’ve had a good time there, hanging out with our colleagues at SICUZ, and meeting lots of great people.
